Marquitta Parker and Elisabeth Pabst, both of Houston, Texas, have decided to hold their wedding on January 1, 2022, and they have registered for presents at both Ikea and The Knot Cash Funds. Both of them are from Houston.

Marquitta Parker and Elisabeth Pabst weren’t high school sweethearts. In Lamar High School, their love story began. In 2009, they socialized together but never spoke. Two years older than Parker, Pabst graduated and went to Baylor in Waco. Houston Community College awarded Parker an A.A. Four years ago, a familiar name appeared in her Instagram direct messages.
Parker: “She commented on a photo and asked if I was in a relationship.” “No, it didn’t work,” I said. I was dry because I wasn’t looking. Liz didn’t stop talking. They exchanged phone numbers and started talking constantly. Pabst says he’s persistent. “I felt it. Marquitta intrigued me; she was special. Pabst texted and FaceTimed after Thanksgiving 2017 while in D.C. Parker did something unexpected after returning home for Christmas.

Parker decorated her girlfriend’s new Galleria apartment. Bellaire’s Siphon Coffee, Weights + Measures, and Paulie’s Poboys were weekend stops.
Parker’s 2019 Mexico cruise was a disaster. Her entire trip, she was seasick. After the 2020 pandemic, something changed, “That year marked me. Liz became close to one of Parker’s moms when many people divorced. They would do projects and play games without me. I admired their friendship. I knew she was the one, but that confirmed it.”

Parker accepted. We planned like the wedding was tomorrow, says Pabst. On January 1, their first anniversary as a couple, they exchanged vows.
Parker recalls “everything that could go wrong” Wind and rain blew during their ceremony. A billowy-fabric-draped pergola toppled into a pond. Pabst hurt her hand in a gate. The clouds cleared by 2 p.m. for the couple’s 20 guests. Parker wore a lace dress with a train, and deep V. Pabst cried when she left. “Being surrounded by our support team and later sitting on the front porch with my brother, my best friend, and Marquitta’s sister felt like a ‘Friends’ episode.” Being so loved was amazing.”
