Police in Phoenix Report 3 Injuries After Two Trucks Collide with a Patrol Cruiser

Two trucks collided with a patrol car on Friday afternoon, according to the police, injuring three persons, two of whom are police officers. Police from Phoenix, Arizona, were called to the intersection of Thomas Road and 51st Avenue at 4:30 p.m. due to a complaint of an accident involving a patrol car. Police were informed by witnesses that two cars that were traveling at a high rate of speed struck the patrol car.

A man is charged with striking a Mesa police cruiser during a traffic check, which resulted in an officer-involved shooting. One of the truck’s adult drivers was brought to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. Two police officers who were riding in the patrol car were also injured and sent to the hospital. The police and a second motorist, who is a child, remained on the site.
