Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison Depart Practise With Hand and Finger Difficulties!
After the team said that starting tight end Irv Smith Jr. would miss the preseason because of a thumb injury, starting running back Dalvin Cook left practise with what looked like a hand injury. He came back for one team snap and then didn’t do anything else at TCO Performance Center on Tuesday’s practise.

Later, it looked like his backup, Alexander Mattison, also hurt a finger during a play. He, too, stood on the sidelines and watched the rest of practise.
And on Monday, Kene Nwangwu, the third running back, hurt what coach Kevin O’Connell called “soft tissue in his lower leg.” Nwangwu sat out Monday and Tuesday.

O’Connell said, “He should be on a day-to-day basis.” “I’m just using it wisely.”
Safety Harrison Smith, Patrick Peterson at cornerback, and Jesse Davis at guard all had Tuesday off. O’Connell is still trying to keep his older veterans in good shape for the start of the regular season.
