Garry Tonon Shows Off Incredible Physique, Ripped and Ready for ADCC!

Garry Tonon, a legend in the sport of jiu-jitsu and a featherweight fighter in ONE, has gotten in incredible shape for this year’s ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship. At ADCC, the American grappler will compete in the 66 kg (145.5 lb) weight class, despite competing at ONE featherweight (155 lb) normally.

Tonon would have to make a significant weight loss to do this since he has been fighting at least 10 pounds heavier over the past few years. Only a few weeks remain until the huge event, and now “The Lion Killer” is well into his weight management regimen and looking ready for the enormous challenge that lies ahead.

Losing weight quickly and safely is a hard component of professional athletics. If an athlete does too much cutting in too little time, he risks becoming dehydrated and losing performance. If you cut too much weight, you can find yourself fighting people who are physically superior to you since they are in a lower weight class.

However, Garry Tonon seems to be taking charge of his weight loss in preparation for his September comeback to the ring.

Garry Tonon Will Be Fighting in a Stacked Weight Class at ADCC This Year

This year, Garry Tonon will briefly return to his grappling roots after a very successful run in ONE Championship’s featherweight mixed martial arts category. Toon will compete in the -66 kilogram weight class at ADCC, one of the world’s oldest and most famous grappling championships.

Needless to say, his bracket is stacked with absolute assassins:

The main event of the two-day grappling event will be a grudge battle between jiu Jitsu superstar Andre Galvao of ONE Championship and pound-for-pound great Gordon Ryan.

Fighters like Garry Tonon, who is now competing in ONE Championship, first gained notoriety in the ADCC.

Competitors from ONE such as Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida and Michelle Nicolini took home gold medals at the yearly event.

Tonon has won nearly every submission grappling title there is to win, including the IBJJF Worlds, the Pan American Championships, and the EBI, yet he still hasn’t won gold in ADCC. The former ONE featherweight world title challenger deserves a new gold medal to put in his case this year.
