Peter Tobin Death: Serial Killer Cremated and Ashes Tipped at Sea
After falling ill at Edinburgh’s Saughton Prison, the person responsible for the murders of Angelika Kluk, Vicky Hamilton, and Dinah McNicol passed away in a local hospital on Saturday, October 8. In 2006, he was found guilty of raping and murdering a Polish student named Angelika, who was 23 years old and concealing her body beneath the floor of a church in Glasgow.
Renfrewshire-born In addition, Tobin was serving life sentences at HMP Edinburgh for the murders of Vicky, 15, and Dinah, 18, all of whom were in their 18s. In the year 1991, on February 10th, Vicky, who was from Redding, which is close to Falkirk, went missing from Bathgate. Tobin moved his family from Bathgate to Margate in Kent a few weeks after the change took place.
The skeletal remains of Vicky and Dinah, both from Essex, were discovered on the grounds of a property in Margate, which had previously served as Tobin’s residence, during a police inquiry into Tobin that took place in November of 2007.
Later on, he was found guilty due to the discovery of DNA evidence on the bones, in addition to fingerprint evidence on a knife that was discovered in one of his previous residences. According to the information on Tobin’s death certificate, he was pronounced dead at 5:35 a.m. on October 8, 2022, at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. His address at the time of his passing was given as Saughton prison.
The information was documented by a sergeant working at the Gayfield Police Station in Edinburgh. Although the cause of death is not specified in the paper, it is widely believed that he had been diagnosed with cancer in 2019. The cause is listed on the certificate as “unascertained;” however, it does state that an inquiry will be conducted at some point in the near future.
“The remains of Peter Tobin were cremated in compliance with the requirements of Section 87 of the Burials and Cremation (Scotland) Act 2016,” stated a spokeswoman for the Edinburgh City Council. “The Burials and Cremation (Scotland) Act 2016 was passed in 2016.”
The ashes that were produced by the cremation were scattered throughout the ocean. The victims of his actions and the loved ones he has harmed are in the Council’s thoughts and prayers. After his passing, a Police Scotland spokeswoman issued the following statement regarding the incident: “At approximately 6:04 am on Saturday, October 8, 2022, police attended at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh following the death of a 76-year-old male.”
