A Four-Year-Old Boy Was Killed in a Farm Accident in Dunn County
A 4-year-old boy was killed in a farm accident in Dunn County on Wednesday. According to the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, the toddler was hit and then driven over by a skid steer operated by an adult family member on a farm in the Town of Peru. Although first responders gave emergency medical assistance, the kid died on the spot as a result of his injuries.
At 8:10 p.m., the accident was reported to the Dunn County Communications Center. Wednesday. The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office was joined at the scene by the Pepin County Sheriff’s Office, Durand Fire Department, Life Link Helicopter, Durand Ambulance, Dunn County First Responders, and the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the event.

According to the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, “preliminary inquiry suggests that the skid steer was being handled by an adult family member when the child was struck and run over by the machine.” According to the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened Tuesday afternoon about a mile south of Buckman. The Pierz four-year-old was driving the ATV with a six-year-old child as a passenger. On a dirt road, the child lost control and rolled the ATV.
According to the sheriff’s office, the six-year-old leaped off the ATV before it started rolling. The four-year-old was thrown out. Minor wounds and bruises were addressed on the six-year-old. According to DNR regulations, the minimum legal age for riding an ATV on public grounds is 12 years old. ATVs can be driven by those who have permission from the vehicle’s owner and are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
