Barbara Kolc said in the above video, “Fort Myers has never had a surge before. We’ve been here 40 years, and we handled every hurricane situation, what was best for us, and where we were, and it always worked out, and we always had insurance and things, and we do this time but this was different. The water washed everything out of your house. Our closest were collapsed, everything taken, you know, it just moved and it was horrible. I don’t even how we, what words describe it, because you knew you were going to die probably and you were just hoping to find a tree to hold on, and we were so lucky, and Lynn, the women that found us and helped us. Who put her out there in the middle, and you just don’t know, it’s just like everything fell into place, and I’ll never forget it.”
