Hilary Swank is Pregnant with Twins: ‘She Can’t Believe It!’
Hilary Swank revealed on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday that she is expecting twins. The Academy Award-winning actress made the statement to the hosts of the morning talk show, as well as to the rest of America while promoting her next series, “Alaska Daily.”
The 48-year-old actress not only revealed she is pregnant, but she also revealed she will be carrying twins. “This is something I’ve wanted for a long time, and my next goal is to become a mother!” Swank said. “I’m going to be a mother of two, not one.”
“It’s so good to be able to talk about it and share it,” she remarked, adding that she “can’t believe it.” Swank’s two new children will be the first for both her and her husband, Philip Schneider, to whom she has been married since 2018.
Later that day, Swank discussed her pregnancy further on “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” revealing that she is now in her second trimester and that the announcement she made earlier was a surprise to everyone, including her “Alaska Daily” crew, who learned about her pregnancy when she first announced it on air.
“Right now, I’m feeling fantastic. It’s great to finally be able to say it… I’ve been on set, and my team is unaware that I’m pregnant “admitted the actress “My clothing was no longer fit, so I had to cut [my jeans] open the other day. Then I put on a jacket that wasn’t in continuity, and [they] told me, ‘That’s not in continuity.’ I said … ‘I’m going to figure things out.’ ‘If you’re an executive producer, you can do anything, but this is bizarre,’ she says.”
During the conversation, co-host Ryan Seacrest asked Swank if she was worried about going from zero to two infants. Swank said it merely added to the thrill of her pregnancy and said she wasn’t surprised because twins run in both her and her husband’s families.
“Twins are two! It’s double the fun “She burst out laughing. “My grandmother was a twin, and my husband’s grandmother was a twin, so twins run in our family.” Swank is presently on a promotional tour for the upcoming ABC show “Alaska Daily,” which premieres this Thursday.
She portrays Eileen Fitzgerald, a discredited journalist who quits her position at a prominent New York daily to work at a small newspaper in Anchorage, Alaska, as part of a journey of self-discovery and redemption. The actress received her big break when she played Julie Pierce in “The Next Karate Kid,” the fourth episode of the Karate Kid franchise. Swank was soon in high demand, starring in a number of critically praised films.
Swank played in “Boys Don’t Cry” as Brandon Teena, a transgender boy navigating life in rural Nebraska, just five years after scoring her breakthrough role. Swank earned her first Academy Award for Best Leading Actress for her work in the film, and she won again in 2005 for her part as a female boxer in “Million Dollar Baby.”
