Review of the Digital Board Game Infinity Game Table, Which Is a Roll of the Dice With Mixed Results.
I identify as a millennial heretic (or a heretical millennial, if you will). There are stacks of books and comics all over my room because I don’t own an e-reader of any kind. Rather than digging around in my car’s middle console looking for a stray aux cord, I’ll just pop in a CD and relax for the duration of the drive. Even when I wear a watch, I continue to buy DVDs. My preference is for actual board games when I’m looking for a challenge. To begin a game, I prefer to pick up all of the dice and arrange them in front of me.
It’s been challenging for me to move from a physical office to a virtual one. In the previous year, my regular board gaming group was compelled to play their favorite board games on a computer using a mouse and keyboard. There’s no way I can avoid touchscreens and cloud saves, which are on their way. I, on the other hand, will not compromise on what I consider vital to board games.
As if by divine intervention, Arcade1Up heard my prayer and delivered upon me a compromise: the Infinity Game Table. Players can still gather around a sofa and play games together while enjoying the virtual experience of online tabletop gaming. A start in the right direction, the Infinity Game Table has potential but is not a viable solution to traditional games because of its high price and restricted features

A Modern Spin on Board Games
The Infinity Game Table can be described as a large tablet with removable legs. The table is the same size for both 24-inch and 32-inch screens, despite the different screen sizes. Screen real estate is all that stands in the way of this. With an AC converter and a built-in battery, it may be used in locations where there are no power outlets. If you’re looking for a table that’s both easy to use and connects to 2.4ghz Wi-Fi, go no further than this one. Designed to go in with any game room and not seem out of place in your parent’s living room, this is a sleek, modern piece of furniture that will fit right in.

The games themselves are, of course, the Infinity Game Table’s genuine digital meat. Word searches and puzzles, as well as traditional Hasbro games like Candy Land and Battleship, are all available on the table. All are pre-installed on the device and can be downloaded for free. New games like Ticket to Ride, which can be purchased on the marketplace, will be added to the table as well.

However, in games like Battleships, players must beg the opposing player to turn their gaze away while they arrange their ships.
The blockers are a shaky concept. Consider the game of Scrabble, which was previously mentioned. The little piece of paper makes it difficult for players to drag their tiles onto the board. To avoid this, players can choose to view their tiles one at a time.
The in-person experience works fine, minus the issue with the blockers. It’s as if you’re playing a genuine board game thanks to the responsive touch controls. That experience is unaffected by the tablet.
Online Play
With the Infinity Game Table, you don’t have to play face-to-face. If you have a reliable internet connection, you can play games with your friends online. In addition to making the game feel more open, this also eliminates the possibility of sneaking peeks. Using cloud saving, guests can put the table to bed and pick up just where they left off at a subsequent time. In the event of an internet outage, you won’t have to worry about losing any progress.
So far, it seems like the Infinity Game Table has a solid base. Players can play their favorite board games with friends around the world thanks to this new technology. At this point, though, it is simply a theoretical possibility It’s an expensive purchase, costing upwards of $500. Since we don’t know what other games are coming, it’s hard to justify spending so much money on Sorry! or Monopoly.

As a result, any games created must be tailored precisely for the table. As a result, it is useless as a map for role-playing games like Catan or Dungeons & Dragons. The official versions developed for this table will not be available for some time, so anyone who wants to utilize it for such purposes will have to wait. It doesn’t help that only people who own the table may play against each other online; there is no crossplay with other consoles or devices, as you might anticipate. The Infinity Game Table is a micro-ecosystem that can only function if several individuals each spend $500 on it.
Our Take
The Infinity Game Table is a hard sell because there are many methods to accomplish what it offers for a fraction of the price. This is a good concept, with all of the necessary components in place. Even if it does an outstanding job of blending virtual and real-world gaming, there is presently no game that makes me want to rush out and get one. It’s also starting to seem a little old in terms of the technology it contains. The Wi-Fi only supports 1080p and does not support 5G. Just having access to Steam on a regular tablet makes it feel inferior.
In my opinion, this product is an outstanding proof of concept that asks an important question: Do you want a device dedicated to a tabletop experience that lets you play games online with friends? Do I think the Infinity Game Table is a worthy investment and a piece of statement furniture? Definitely, but the current version does not meet my needs.
