In the 20th century, American actors Tia and her twin sister Tamera Mowry were massive stars. With their outstanding work in “Sister, Sister,” the duo made their Hollywood debut.
They were the show’s stars for a total of six fantastic years. Tia and Tamera are portrayed as identical twins who were separated as children but eventually found each other as adolescents. The program jumpstarted their career in show business.
Tia Mowry portrayed the more levelheaded and savvy twin, Tia Landry, in the show, while Tamera Campbell was the more outgoing and boy-crazy of the two.
Both twins decided to pursue degrees in psychology at Pepperdine after the series concluded. However, they also made movies throughout their time at university.
The duo featured in “Sister, Sister” in the TV movie “Seventeen Again” together. Rather than playing sisters, they played cousins this time. The Mowry Family, Parents of Tia and Tamera Mowry
On July 6, 1978, Tia and Tamera were born to parents of mixed racial and ethnic backgrounds. While their father, Timothy John Mowry, was born in the United States, their mother, Darlene Mowry, is of Afro-Bahamian descent.
While attending separate high schools in Miami, Florida, Darlene and Timothy eventually crossed paths. Following graduation, the two individuals enlisted in the United States Army and worked their way up to Sergeant.
In 1975, when the couple was only 18 years old, they eloped to get married because they feared being subjected to bigotry. When Darlene and Timothy were expecting their daughters, Tia and Tamera, they were stationed in Germany as part of their respective military obligations.
Tia expressed her gratitude to their parents for their many sacrifices in an interview with People magazine. Tia said that she will always love and respect her parents. Tia came clean and said:
“MY PARENTS WERE IN THE ARMY. THEY RAN AWAY TO BE MARRIED AT 18 YEARS OLD. IT WAS A LITTLE BIT OF A SHOTGUN WEDDING, SHOULD I SAY. THEY HAD ME AND MY SISTER AT 21 YEARS OLD.”
In addition to their daughters, Tia and Tamera, Tia and Tamera’s parents also have two sons, Tahj and Tavior Mowry.
Separation of Tia’s and Tamera’s Parents
Tamera Mowry-Housley, a co-host on the show The Real, has recently opened up about the divorce between her parents many years ago and how, as a direct result of this event, she has become overly protective of her mother. She said that this behavior directly results from the trauma she experienced due to the divorce.
This occurred on April 26, 2019, to be specific. She has never recognized on television or in any of the stages of our life that we are presently going through the fact that my mother and father are no longer together.
This is one of the things that I find most surprising about her. I like how she treats every one of the precious moments in her life as if they were made of gold.
Tia and Tamera’s family did all in their power to dissuade them from embracing the decision of their parents to dissolve their marriage after 40 years of marriage; nevertheless, in the end, they were able to come to grips with the situation and accept it.
When Timothy Mowry and Darlene Mowry were both just eighteen, they decided to elope to get married. After giving birth to four children and being married for forty years, the couple concluded that it was best to dissolve their marriage. However, the explanation for this cannot be established now.

Even though they were married for 40 years, Darlene and Timothy Mowry recently split up. Their children were horrified by their choice to separate and attempted to talk them out of it. When the children ultimately refused to budge, however, everyone had no choice but to accept their decision.
Tamera mentioned how she had been overprotective of her mother once her parents’ plan to divorce became public knowledge. The woman continued her story by saying that Darlene highly valued her own life.
