According to Sheriff’s Reports, a Deltona Couple Was Murdered in Their Home With Their Children There

The death toll from the unfolding tragedy in Victoria increased to two hours before the body of a man was discovered in flood waters in western New South Wales. The 63-year-old man has been missing since last Monday when he was last seen at his home in Hillston, New South Wales (NSW) Riverina.

On 11 October, the corpse of a missing man was discovered near Wallanthery, roughly 35 kilometers northeast of his last known location. Although the body’s identity has not been confirmed, authorities are confident that it is that of the missing guy. On Wednesday morning, victorian officials confirmed that a 65-year-old man’s corpse was discovered in flood waters on Paynes Road in Nathalia, near Shepparton.

Police said the guy was last seen riding a tractor on a site near Blacksmiths Road on Tuesday afternoon. When he didn’t come home by 10 p.m., authorities began searching the area and located the unattended tractor in the floodwaters. A 71-year-old man was discovered dead on Saturday in the backyard of his Rochester home. Thus this guy’s passing is the second in as many days.

This comes as families affected by the terrible floods in Victoria are granted further financial assistance. At the same time, towns remain on high alert for the potential inundation of properties by the swelling Murray River system. On Wednesday, the Bureau of Meteorology’s Dean Narramore said that flood risks had been revived due to a low-pressure system coming through eastern Australia.

Narramore has stated, “We have serious flood warnings for several rivers in NSW and Victoria.” Kerang, a town in northern Victoria, issued an evacuation order in the afternoon of Wednesday, with the Patchell Bridge on the Murray Valley Highway scheduled to close at 7 p.m., effectively cutting off the community. The order was one of four in effect for municipalities in the state’s northern regions. Echuca and the smaller settlements of Barmah and Lower Moira were under evacuation orders. Hundreds of residents in and around Moama have been ordered to leave their homes because rising floodwaters expected to surpass 1993, which were already the second worst on record for the area. In New South Wales, nine rescue planes were on standby, in addition to flood rescue vehicles from the State Emergency Service. The state government of New South Wales asked for 880 members of the Australian Defense Force to assist at-risk neighborhoods. Based in Deniliquin, close to the Victorian border, the troops helped with sandbagging and door-knocking.

Almost every river system west of the separating range is under flood, the flood recovery minister for New South Wales, Steph Cooke, said on Wednesday. If it rains enough, the water level in those rivers will increase fast and dramatically. Our SES volunteers have worked hard on this for a long time, sometimes more than a year. The federal government and the ADF have been conducive, and we appreciate their understanding of how exhausted our people are.

The federal and Victorian governments have also launched a jointly funded assistance plan. It implies that in the first phase, Emergency Recovery Victoria will arrange the free removal of dangers from premises that have been damaged or destroyed. The floods damaged prime agricultural regions in Victoria. Therefore the state’s leader, Daniel Andrews, has unveiled a $73.5 million aid package to help farmers and business owners clean up. Bureau of Meteorology spokesman Kevin Parkin said on Wednesday that flood waters were continuing to decrease and that the potential of heavy rainfall during expected thunderstorms in coming days had diminished marginally. Across Victoria on Friday and Saturday, widespread showers were expected to produce 2–10 mm of rain, with higher totals of up to 30 mm in the state’s north-central and north-eastern regions.

Thousands of houses and businesses in Echuca have been protected by a sand and sandbag flood levee that citizens have spent days constructing. However, the town is now split in half by the wall, and the inhabitants and their possessions on the wrong side are at risk of flooding. Chief Operating Officer Tim Wiebusch of the SES justified the border by claiming it was created by the incident controller in collaboration with the catchment management authority, local government, and Victoria police.
