It premieres on Amazon Prime Video on April 8th, 2022, and select theatres will show the film on the same day.
‘All The Old Knives’ Plot
At its core, All The Old Knives is an old-fashioned spy thriller with a massive conspiracy at its core. To find out who leaked the intelligence that cost more than 100 lives, experienced CIA operative Henry Pelham (Chris Pine) is sent to investigate his former colleagues at the Vienna station, where he worked.
From Austria to England to California, his inquiry takes him back and forth between the two countries, where he is reunited with his ex-lover and former colleague Celia Harrison (Thandiwe Newton). In this gripping tale of international espionage, moral uncertainty, and lethal betrayal, the two must blur the borders between their professional and personal lives.
‘All The Old Knives’ cast — Chris Pine as Henry Pelham
Chris Pine portrays Henry Pelham, a veteran operative. We may expect a lot of action, combat, and scary situations in All the Old Knives because of Pine’s heroism in most of his films.
Actor Chris Pine is well-known for playing Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman 1984 and the Dungeons & Dragons movie series. It’s not only the rebooted Star Trek movies from 2009 through 2016 and A Wrinkle in Time and Rise of the Guardians that he’s starred in. In 2003, he had a starring part in the popular US medical series ER.
Thandiwe Newton as Celia Harrison
Thandiwe Newton, who portrays Henry’s former CIA colleague and ex-lover Celia Harrison, joins Chris Pine in All The Old Knives. As Maeve Millay and Roz Huntley in Westworld and Line Of Duty, Thandiwe (also referred to as Thandie Newton) is one of British television’s best-known stars. As Condoleeza Rice in W, she has also appeared in Beloved, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and W: The Secret of the Wings.
Who else is starring?
Both Laurence Fishburne and Jonathan Pryce have signed on to play supporting roles in All The Old Knives as well. Since starring in Apocalypse Now in 1979, Laurence has enjoyed a long and successful career. The cast also includes Jonathan Pryce. Jonathan Pryce has appeared in Brazil, Evita, and Tomorrow Never Dies, among other films. He was the High Sparrow in Game of Thrones and Sir Thomas Wolseley in the BBC version of Wolf Hall. Imelda Staunton will play the Queen in the final two seasons of Netflix’s The Crown.
Corey Johnson, David Bedella, Colin Stinton, Nasser Memaza, Orli Shuka, and Abdul Alshareef also appear in All The Old Knives.
