Guy Fieri was born on January 22, 1968, in Columbus, Ohio, but grew up in Ferndale, Humboldt County, Northern California. His parents had a Western-themed clothing store. He stated that his interest in cuisine began in earnest as a high school student when a study abroad program in France opened his eyes to the possibilities of food.
