Phoebe Dynevor Reveals She Will Not Be in Season 3 Of ‘Bridgerton’
Phoebe Dynevor has stated that the character of Daphne Bridgerton will not be returning for the third season of the Netflix original series Bridgerton. After confirming to Screen Rant on Saturday that her character would “unfortunately not be in season 3,” Dynevor told the publication, “I’m just delighted to watch as a viewer.”
However, Dynevor’s revelation that viewers may see Daphne again “in the future” leaves open the possibility that the door is not totally closed. CNN has reached out to representatives for Dynevor as well as Netflix in an effort to obtain additional feedback.
The racy television show that was produced by Shonda Rhimes and launched in 2020 was adapted from Julia Quinn’s immensely popular book series that was set during the Regency era. Phoebe Dynevor will not return for the upcoming season of Bridgeton’s.

Dynevor was quoted in 2021 as saying to Harper’s Bazaar that “Working with someone like Shonda, who’s sort of pushing boundaries and doing interesting things, I just felt very safe and comfortable knowing that it was under her jurisdiction.”
Alongside Regé-Jean Page, who played the swoon-worthy Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset, Dynevor featured in the first season of “Bridgerton.” While Page did not return for the second season, Dynevor did appear in a smaller role in that season as the story centered around Daphne’s brother Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) own search for love.
Season 1 followed the romance between Daphne and Simon, and while Page did not return for the second season, Dynevor did. The breakout star Nicola Coughlan’s performance as Penelope Featherington and her relationship with Colin Bridgerton will be the primary focus of the third season (Luke Newton). There has not yet been an official announcement made regarding when “Bridgerton” Season 3 will begin airing.
