Pickup Truck Driver Killed In I-294 crash, Illinois State Police Say. According to the Illinois State Police, a collision that occurred on Interstate 294 in the afternoon on Monday resulted in the death of a driver. At approximately 2:20 p.m., the collision took place in the southbound lanes close to milepost 33, according to the police.
The crash attenuator was damaged when a pickup vehicle tried to enter the counter-flow lanes but it was blocked by the barrier. The pickup truck subsequently flipped onto its side. According to the authorities, the crash resulted in the death of the driver of the pickup truck. A second vehicle that was involved in the accident sustained just minor injuries as a result of the collision.
