Why Did Kate and Johnny Break Up?
After his illustrious relationship with Winona Ryder, Johnny Depp had a three-year-long relationship with the British model Kate Moss. Many people have held out hope that the two will one day tie the knot and begin a family together because their relationship has been one of the most recognizable in Hollywood during the 1990s.
But in 1997, the two of them went their own ways. Moss went on to romance Dazed & Confused editor Jefferson Hack (via Vogue), with whom she had a daughter, while Depp went on to marry French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis and have two children (by the Evening Standard). Depp and Paradis are the parents of two children.
At the Cafe Tabac in New York City in 1994, Vanity Fair contributor George Wayne (through Paper) was the one who introduced Depp and Moss to one another. This event marked the beginning of their relationship (via The Face).

His official Instagram account captioned a post in 2019 with the following: “Johnny was in the back having dinner when Kate walked in with Naomi and [Wayne] grabbed her and made the introduction.” The account also mentioned that the couple became notorious for “destroying hotel rooms across the globe during their still unforgettable union.”
During the four years that the couple was together, they were frequently in the news for their public displays of affection (particularly during the first year of their romance). A close acquaintance of Johnny Depp’s told People that the couple “can’t get their hands, lips, mouths, or legs off of each other.”
Johnny claims that he was the one who caused the end of their engagement and relationship. That, however, came to an end in 1997, and a year later, Jonny Depp explained the specific reason why he and Vanessa were no longer together.
In an interview with Hello! magazine (which was obtained from the Johnny Depp Zone), he admitted that he was to blame for the end of their romantic partnership by saying, “I’m so stupid because we had so much going for our relationship.”
“I was tough to get along with, I allowed my work get in the way, and I didn’t pay her the attention I should have done,” the person said. “I let my work get in the way.” He went on to clarify that he shouldn’t have “been so heated up” over what other people thought about his work since he should have handled it better.
He told me, “Sure, I ought to care about my movies, but when I come home I ought to try my best to leave such stuff behind.” “I was incapable of doing that, and I was a nightmare to live with. Believe me, there are occasions when I behave like a complete idiot.”
Depp continued by saying that he and his ex-girlfriend shared something that was “so pure,” which would explain why the separation was so difficult emotionally. The actor stated that he had “never gotten so emotional over a lady before,” while Moss stated in an interview with Vanity Fair in 2012 that Depp was one of the few individuals who were able to care for her.
The next thing that Kate Moss said was, “And that’s what I missed when I went.” “I had a serious lapse of judgment on who I could rely on. Nightmare. Numerous decades were spent in constant sobbing. Oh, the flood of tears!”
