Recap of Season 2 of Power Book II: Ghost
Professor Jabari Reynolds was found murdered in Season 2 of Ghost! A ruthless drug lord, Mecca, adopts Cane as his own. As a result of his defeat, Rashad Tate sought the congressional seat vacated by Congressman Rick Sweeney. Even so, he was to be an assistant professor at Stansfield alongside Professor Carrie.
Their efforts were focused on supporting Zeke’s professional basketball career to keep their family out of the drug trade. In the wake of Prof. Reynolds’ death, Kevin Whitman was charged with the murder of someone in Stansfield.
At the same time, Tariq was juggling his studies, Yasmine’s placement in foster care, his mother’s incarceration, his drug business on campus, and raising money for his defense. While his father, Lorenzo, was in prison, Cane’s ambitions grew stronger, and he stole and traded the family’s drugs.
He was their sole source of resupply. It wasn’t long before Whitman began to suspect Carrie of the murder. However, something she said caught the officer’s attention, and he began investigating Zeke. When the ballplayer was questioned, he revealed his connection to Detective Ramirez, which elevated him to the prime suspect position!
When his mother insisted that Tariq be present during their operation, Cane was annoyed. He concluded that Brayden was Riq’s weakness. As a result, the serpent managed to entice the whiteboy into his clutches, where he then accidentally turned him against Tariq. Brayden was appointed president of a shell corporation by Riq to obtain custody of Yasmine, but Riq needed legitimate documentation to do so.
Zeke’s doubts were alleviated by Tariq’s claim that Detective Ramirez’s pistol was used in the murder of Jabari! Despite Dante/desire for Mecca for Monet and his decision to abandon her imprisoned spouse Zeke’s defense fund was $1 million, and Mecca finally paid it on Monet’s behalf. As it turned out, Zeke was Monet’s son and not her nephew… His grandfather, Mecca, was from Mecca.
After Tariq’s dorm room was raided and the revolver of Detective Ramirez was found (thanks to Cane setting him up! ), Zeke was ruled out as a suspect. His father Ghost left a scathing letter in Tariq’s cell in case he was arrested for murder. After posting a bond, Riq was able to return to school and continue fighting the charges. Monet’s plans for an escape were thrown into jeopardy when Lorenzo was also released from prison.
After discovering that Lauren was wearing a wire that could have implicated Brayden, Cane, and himself, Tariq’s investigation took an unexpected turn. For the sake of Lauren’s safety, Riq convinced Carrie to go on the record. Davis made a show of humiliating her in front of the entire class. Carrie hanged herself later that night after speaking with Monet!
During Tariq’s recurring nightmare, he learned who was responsible for the death. Ghost was expected to make an appearance, but he did not. Maybe in the third season of Ghost?
After realizing Dante was Mecca, Monet hatched a plot to assassinate him in the final episode. Brayden helped Tariq’s trial be dismissed. He was able to get Yasmine out of foster care and reunite her with Tasha (who finally made an appearance in the second season). Riq promised his family that he would mend fences with them once he had the resources and authority to do so…
Mecca was assassinated by Monet in the end (who turned out to be a federal confidential informant). Because Tariq visited the crime scene, he has been named as a suspect in another murder. Lorenzo shot and killed Zeke because he thought he was preventing Mecca from boarding a private plane. The third season begins with a phone call from Monet, informing her of the death of her son.
Power Book II: Ghost’: Season 3 Plot:
After the shocking conclusion of season two, Monet will undoubtedly learn that her husband Lorenzo Tejada (Berto Colon) murdered her son Zeke by mistake. Tariq, who had initially wanted to leave the drug trade, has decided to stay and serve as the new link in the chain now that Mecca is no longer a factor in the game.
When Tariq’s college girlfriend Lauren was killed in a car accident, Brayden, the student who saved his life by confessing to being the student selling drugs and revealing himself as the CEO of their drug peddling app Course Correct, betrayed him by setting him up.

In the end, it was revealed that detective Blanca Rodriguez (Monique Gabriela Curnen) was the one tasked with protecting Mecca, the undercover agent. Tariq’s investigation into Mecca’s shooting will be hampered by Blanca’s return with a blurry picture of Tariq.
Additionally, Cooper Saxe and Jenny Sullivan will work together to expose Davis MacLean’s dubious legal representation in season three. Meanwhile, MacLean is working to get his brother Theo Rollins, who is serving a life sentence for an unsolved murder, out of prison.
