Rocky Mount Mom and Boyfriend : Child’s Death Warrants Court Appearance
(WNCN) – ROCKY MOUNT, North Carolina A mother and her boyfriend were both charged on Sunday, according to the Rocky Mount Police Department, in connection with the “suspicious death” of the mother’s kid.
On Sunday morning at about nine o’clock, police responded to a request for assistance from emergency medical services in the 600 block of Paul Street.
The call to the police was apparently about a youngster who was one year old and unresponsive while they were in the bathtub.
According to the reports, emergency medical services transported the toddler to the hospital. The youngster was reportedly proclaimed dead even though they attempted to save the child’s life.
According to a press statement issued by the police late Sunday night, the investigation concluded that the victim, a one-year-old named Romie Tyler III, sustained “severe physical damage.”
According to the press release, Romie’s mother, Sierra Eley, who is 27 years old, has been charged with the felony offense of child abuse.
According to the press release, Marcus Richardson, who is 30 years old and Eley’s boyfriend, has been charged with first-degree murder and criminal child abuse.
Richardson is being detained without the possibility of the bond at the Nash County Detention Center. Eley is being detained under a secured bail of $250,000.
According to the Nashville police, Eley and Richardson are scheduled to make their initial court appearances on Monday at nine at the Nash County Courthouse.
The event is being looked into by the Criminal Investigation Division right now.
