In Arlington Heights, a woman was hit and killed by a Metra train Accident
Early on Wednesday morning in Arlington Heights, a commuter train struck and killed a pedestrian, according to authorities. Metra spokeswoman Meg Reile said the woman, whose identity was not published, was struck by outgoing train #603 on the UP Northwest line just before 6 a.m. close to the rail crossing at North Ridge Avenue and Northwest Highway.
Reilly added that although it was unclear what the person was doing in the area, the Metra Police Department spent the morning there looking into it. At the Cook County medical examiner’s office, an autopsy is planned. The first train of the day to depart was train #603, which was destined for McHenry. The collision happened not far from the Arlington Heights train station in the city.

According to the officials, she was deemed to be deceased at the scene. According to the findings of an autopsy performed by the medical examiner’s office, she died as a result of various injuries, and the manner of her passing was determined to be accidental.
